The Design Process
- How I achieve a high quality finish -
CLEAN - Our furniture is deep cleaned inside and out prior to refinishing, this is when we inspect the piece for any damage and make repairs. We also ensure all drawers run smoothly.
PREP - All of our pieces are stripped / sanded back to bare wood before priming. This removes any scratches & dents and gives a super smooth base to work from.
PRIMING - We use a specialist stain blocking primer, which gives superior adhesion for our paint.
PAINT - There are a few ‘ tried & tested’ brands of furniture paint which we are happy to use on your furniture. They give a beautiful, smooth Satin / Matt finish.
TOPCOAT - For extra protection and easy upkeep, we apply multiple coats of a water resistant topcoat.
- Paints & Colours -
When designing your piece with us, one of the first things to consider is what colour you’d like. With a range of beautiful neutrals, greens, blue’s and black’s (and more!), we can ensure your new furniture will perfectly suit your home.
Paint samples will be posted so you can pick your favourite colour.
Our paints have the finest ingredients that are environmentally friendly without compromising on quality, performance and colour. They leave a beautiful 'Matt Sheen' finish.
With over 50 beautiful colours to choose from we'll be sure to find something perfect for you, here are a few of our most popular choices.
- Handles & Knobs -
It’s the small details that count, and this is definitely the case with handles!
There’s a variety of different handles, from classic to modern, and they all come in a range of different metals too.
Choosing the right handles for your piece can help tie everything together within your room and give an effortless, cohesive look.
Here are some of the handles we've used on pieces in the past, other options are available too.
- Extra Detailing -
Depending on the piece and your desired style, you may choose to add ‘extra detailing’. There are a few designs to choose:
EXPOSED WOOD - Opting to leave some parts of your piece unpainted, for example the legs or the drawers or the top, can add warmth to the furniture. The exposed wood can be kept natural or stained lighter or darker.
FLUTING - One of our most popular designs, adding fluting to a piece can really make it ‘pop’. Fluted detailing can be painted or stained to suit your design.
STRIP WOOD DETAILING - We can add a herringbone / Chevron pattern to drawer fronts, a classic design that will complement your room.
